Kehadiran Mendahului Aktivitas: Tafsir Integratif Lukas 10:38-42 sebagai Respons terhadap Burnout dalam Pelayanan Pastoral Kontemporer

The phenomenon of burnout in pastoral ministry has become a serious concern, characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced achievement. Research shows that a ministry without a strong foundation of faith increases the risk of burnout that disrupts overall ministry effectiveness. The narrative of Mary and Martha in Luke 10:38-42 provides a relevant reflection on the tension between ministry busyness and the longing to remain close to God. This study employs a qualitative-exegetical method combining narrative exposition and pastoral theological reflection to reinterpret the faith styles of Mary and Martha as sources of reflection in modern ministry practice. Unlike previous studies that portray Mary and Martha as opposing poles, this research presents an integrative approach demons-trating how both faith styles complement each other and need to be balanced. The main contribution lies in concrete implications for addressing pastoral burnout and forming wise spiritual ministry patterns, affirming that spiritual presence must precede ministry activity so that every action arises from intimate fellowship with Christ.
Abstrak
Fenomena burnout dalam pelayanan pastoral semakin menjadi perhatian serius, ditandai oleh kelelahan emosional, depersonalisasi, dan penurunan pencapaian. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelayanan tanpa landasan iman yang kuat meningkatkan risiko burnout yang mengganggu efektivitas pelayanan secara menyeluruh. Narasi Maria dan Marta dalam Lukas 10:38-42 menjadi cerminan relevan terhadap ketegangan antara kesibukan pelayanan dan kerinduan tinggal dekat dengan Tuhan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif-eksegetis yang memadukan eksposisi naratif dan refleksi teologis pastoral untuk menginterpretasikan ulang gaya iman Maria dan Marta sebagai sumber refleksi dalam praktik pelayanan modern. Berbeda dari kajian sebelumnya yang menggambarkan Maria dan Marta sebagai kutub bertentangan, penelitian ini menghadirkan pendekatan integratif yang menunjukkan bagai-mana kedua gaya iman tersebut saling melengkapi dan perlu diseimbangkan. Kontribusi utama terletak pada implikasi konkret dalam mengatasi burnout pastoral dan membentuk pola pelayanan rohani yang bijak, menegaskan bahwa kehadiran rohani harus mendahului aktivitas pelayanan agar setiap tindakan lahir dari persekutuan intim dengan Kristus.
